„From cotton flake to the finished garment“

1892 is the birth year of the company, B. Rawe & Co. The entrepreneur Bernhard Rawe, a man who was always on the go and full of ideas, laid the cornerstone in Nordhorn for the shirt producer of today.

Bernard Rawe attached a lot of importance to a solid basic knowledge and understanding of the total process chain of textile producing. He gathered experience as a co-owner of the spinning mill- before founding his own spinning mill –and later a weaving mill. “From cotton flake to the finished garment” - that was Bernhard Rawe philosophy, which was not only imprinted on him but on his successor after his death in 1950.

1933 Rawe took the step to producing and to do this purchased the clothing company, Gebrüder Weinberg in Rheda, Germany, which up to then had produced ladies nightwear, wall hangings and lace tablecloths. After the Rawe takeover, pyjamas and shirts were also included into the sewing production. In the sixties Rawe completed its range of services with fabric finishing and printing, which meant that the complete product was produced from start to finish from one company.

1985 The Seidensticker Group, under the name Rawe Rheda Mode Vertriebs GmbH, took over this specialised production company. From this point in time Rawe, with its tremendous, over 100 years old experience, concentrated on shirt production and profited further with the know-how of Europe’s largest shirt producer.

Rawe found its place quickly at Seidensticker in the economically priced quality segment, with several collections per annum for Club D'Amingo, Mc Kay, Lorenzo Calvino and Jean Chatel.

Since the seventies Rawe has taken over the licence for Jean Chatel. For this shirt brand which stems from France, Rawe has developed worldwide fashion collections and is responsible for the production as well as for the national and international distribution.

Today a team of product and key account managers work extremely efficiently with the international supply network of the Seidensticker Group on the domestic and export market, to serve our customers on a national and international level.
